Starting times
Only the official programs published by the Bregenzer Festspiele include the binding dates and starting times of the performances. We reserve the right to short-term changes. The Bregenzer Festspiele does not take responsibility for other publications.
Late admission
Due to safety reasons and out of consideration for the artists on stage and other guests, the ticket holder is no longer entitled to their seats as soon as the performance starts.
Guests who arrive late at any event of the Bregenzer Festspiele will only be admitted in the intermission or accompanied by staff. Guests are not allowed to take a different seat other than that specified on their ticket. If guests are in the wrong seat, they may be asked to pay the price difference or asked to leave the venue.
For safety reasons and to guarantee fast and easy entry, please note the following entry regulations
You can take the following items with you:

- plastic bottles (max. 0.5 litre)
- cushions and blankets
- all items sold by the Bregenzer Festspiele at the venue
You CANNOT take the following items with you:

Tickets marked "vmobil" entitle the ticket holder to use the regional public transport (bus and train) to and from the venue on the day of the event.
Only the sales partners of the Bregenzer Festspiele are entitled to the commercial resale of tickets and only with the explicit approval of the Bregenzer Festspiele. Taking part in performances, guided tours and introductory talks requires a valid ticket. The Bregenzer Festspiele may refuse to sell tickets to or provide replacement tickets for companies and individuals who commercially trade tickets or serve associated networks without permission.
The Bregenzer Festspiele takes no responsibility for the validity of tickets provided by other ticket sellers or for their additional charges or other services.
Only sponsors and sales partners of the Bregenzer Festspiele are entitled to use data (text, audio, image and video material owned by the Bregenzer Festspiele) for advertising purposes, as long as the material is credited appropriately.
Important information for sales partners
Touting and reselling tickets (with or without extra charge) at the festival venue is prohibited. This encourages the black market and its horrendous prices. Non-compliance may result in the sales partner being admonished or partly or completely blocked from buying tickets.
Tickets may be resold privately as long as there is no intent to realize profit. To take part in performances, guided tours and introductory talks a valid ticket is required.
The Bregenzer Festspiele does not assume liability for the validity of tickets (analog or digital) purchased from private ticket providers. Further, the Bregenzer Festspiele advise you not to buy tickets from online platforms (e.g. Viagogo, Ebay, ...). As approximately 50% of the tickets are mobile tickets, misuse becomes more frequent. The Bregenzer Festspiele cannot guarantee that these tickets are valid. You buy these tickets at your own risk. The Bregenzer Festspiele reserves the right to report any misuse to the police.
The Bregenzer Festspiele may refuse to sell tickets to or provide replacement tickets for individuals who resell tickets with the intent to make profit.
The right to withdraw from a contract in case of remote sale pursuant to § 11 FAGG does not apply to the purchase of admission tickets, since the services in question are leisure services as defined in §18 (1) Z 10 FAGG (Austrian federal law).
Exchange
Paid tickets can generally not be exchanged. However, in many cases we can offer an exchange on a goodwill policy. We charge an exchange fee of EUR 8 per ticket. Please contact our box office for more information.
Cancellation
Changes in the cast or the program do not entitle ticket holders to return or exchange tickets. The Bregenzer Festspiele will do their best to inform the ticket buyer in good time.
Return for resale
If a performance is sold out, tickets can be returned for resale without guarantee. We charge a commission fee of 20% of the original ticket price. The decision as to which sales channels are used for the resale is the sole responsibility of the Bregenzer Festspiele.
Tip Ticket insurance
In case you are unexpectedly unable to attend the event, the Bregenzer Festspiele suggest booking a ticket insurance. Find out more here.
In case the tickets are lost, the ticket buyer may ask for replacement tickets once. Replacement tickets require a written request and can only be handed over to the ticket holder if they can prove which tickets they booked (exact seat- and row number). Replacement tickets have priority over original tickets, granting only the holder of the replacement ticket entrance.
The Opera on the Lake is an open-air performance, which accounts for much of the special atmosphere on the Seebühne. The majority of our guests is willing to take a certain weather risk. Therefore, our policy is to proceed with the performance, even if the weather looks inclement. The decision on whether or not to go ahead with the performance outside is taken only before its scheduled start. This is because despite today's high-quality forecasting technology, it is still difficult to determine exactly how the weather situation will develop. Please note, that we might also play in the rain. From 8:15 p.m. (July) or 8:00 p.m. (August) on, weather updates are broadcasted via loudspeakers all around the festival grounds. There may be delays and interruptions due to bad weather. We therefore recommend guests to bring waterproof clothing.
