Tango am See
PERFORMANCE

Werkstattbühne, Montagehalle
About
Finnish people are said to be melancholic but not very passionate. That is not the case when it comes to Tango: No one loves this dance as much as the Finnish people do; maybe just the Argentinians, who claim to have invented this dance.
There is no summer in Finland without tango, just as there is no Finnish winter without the northern lights. Finland does not have 1,000 but almost 200,000 lakes – and for more than 100 years a lot of tango. In German- speaking countries football may be the king, but in Finland it is tango. In the city Seinäjoki the oldest tango-singing contest takes place every year. The winners are crowned tango king and tango queen.
