About
Hedvig Haugerud is one of the most promising spinto sopranos of her generation. The Norwegian, who has already received several awards, fascinates with powerful and empathetic interpretations. Her program, which combines works of Edvard Grieg, Jean Sibelius, contemporary composers and Gösta Nystroem’s popular song cycle Sånger vid havet (lit. Songs by the Sea), embodies her deep connection with the Nordic musical culture. Together with the pianist Mats Knutsson she creates an atmospheric world of sounds, which expresses the rough beauty of the North in all its emotional facets.
