Wiener Symphoniker 3

The debut concert of the designated Principal Conductor of the Wiener Symphoniker, Petr Popelka, in Bregenz starts as a gallop. But just like he did with Der Freischütz, Carl Maria von Weber presents demonic sounds in the overture to the grand romantic opera Euryanthe. Robert Schumann’s 3rd symphony, on the other hand, offers the listener unclouded joy of life. The composer did not choose the byname »Rhenish« but it still refers to the place of its origin, Dusseldorf. Additionally, the new work of the Austrian composer Thomas Larcher Love and the Fever celebrates its Austrian premiere in Bregenz.
