Friends of Bregenz Festival
The beginnings of Bregenz Festival in 1946 were strongly shaped by private initiative, which manifested itself in the formation of the so-called “Festspielgemeinde Bregenz” (Bregenz Festival Society) in 1949.
Today, this is the “Verein der Freunde der Bregenzer Festspiele“ (Friends of Bregenz Festival). In times of tight public budgets, the association’s contributions play a particularly reliable and important role in preserving the diversity of the festival’s program.
The Friends of Bregenz Festival currently count more than 1.000 members from Austria and abroad. They support the festival financially but also in non-material ways. As ambassadors, they carry the idea of Bregenz Festival far beyond the borders of Vorarlberg. Members of the Friends of Bregenz Festival enjoy a number of benefits throughout the whole year: priority booking, invitations to exclusive events, such as the annual program presentation with the festival’s artistic director, or rehearsal visits guarantee a unique experience at Bregenz Festival.
For more than 70 years, the Friends of Bregenz Festival have been one of our strongest partners and we would love to welcome you as a new member.

Young Friends of Bregenz Festival (until 26) are invited to take part in all events of the Friends of Bregenz Festival for free and express their enthusiasm for culture – opera, contemporary and classical music, theatre and more – already at a young age.
