Dalia Stasevska
Wiener Symphoniker
DATE
Mon 27 July 2026 – 7.30 p.m.
Zum Programm
With three works from different eras and countries, this concert evening under the baton of Finnish-Ukrainian conductor Dalia Stasevska becomes a deeply felt reflection on origin, longing, and identity.
The orchestral work Ciel d’hiver (Winter Sky) by composer Kaija Saariaho, who passed away in 2023, unfolds in a weightless, luminous, and atmospheric soundscape—an avant-garde composition of ethereal beauty. In contrast stands the passionate drama of Lili Boulanger’s cantata Faust et Hélène. At only twenty years of age, Boulanger became the first woman to ever win the prestigious Prix de Rome with this work in 1913.
