More than 300,000 people enjoyed Verdi's Nabucco on the Seebühne during these two summers. After lengthy discussions, public subsidy bodies approved the construction of a rehearsal stage. Located right next to the Festspielhaus, its aim was to make production conditions considerably easier and, thus, less expensive.
