About
The acclaimed Swedish mezzo-soprano Anne Sofie von Otter reveals her exceptional charm in the program Douce France. With a refined sense of atmosphere, she performs chansons and songs in exquisite arrangements for accordion, guitar, piano, and violin.
Straddling the worlds of salon music and jazz, von Otter presents wonderfully intimate, melancholic, and witty works by artists such as Barbara and Charles Trenet. Alongside well-known classics like Padam Padam, she also performs rarely heard song miniatures by Reynaldo Hahn and Cécile Chaminade. From the rich treasury of Berlin’s musical heritage, she presents evergreens such as Kann denn Liebe Sünde sein and Heut Abend lad ich mir die Liebe ein, together with works by Friedrich Hollaender and Kurt Weill.
Works among others by Reynaldo Hahn, Friedrich Hollaender, Léo Ferré, Norbert Glanzberg, Barbara Trenet, Georges Moustaki.
