About
80 Years Bregenzer Festspiele—Singalong at the Lake
What does an anniversary sound like? It sounds best together! For the 80th anniversary of the Bregenzer Festspiele, the Seebühne will transform into a very special soundscape on 1 August 2026: At the Singalong at the Lake, the outdoor auditorium itself becomes one musical entity as passionate singers from across the Lake Constance region gather to perform famous opera choruses together.
Under the theme “Alemania cantat”, everyone is invited to join in—whether choirs, vocal ensembles, or solo singers, from the city or countryside, young or old. Led by the charismatic Australian conductor Steven Moore and accompanied by an instrumental ensemble featuring musicians of the Symphonieorchester Vorarlberg, renowned Festspiel soloists, members of the Bregenzer Festspiele Choir, the Prague Philharmonic Choir, the Bavarian Radio Chorus, and various regional choirs, hundreds of voices gather and create a thrilling open-air soundscape.
The program offers a vibrant homage to eight decades of Bregenzer Festspiele history, featuring beloved classics such as “Va, pensiero” from Nabucco, the “Hunter’s choir” from Der Freischütz, “Brindisi” from La traviata, as well as excerpts from Carmen and Turandot. The exhilarating power of music and the joy of singing together make this event a true celebration for all opera lovers. Join in singing in one of Europe’s most spectacular open-air arenas and become part of the Bregenzer Festspiele history.
