Rigoletto - The Mysterious World of Theatre

Opera that kids can get involved in

For our youngest audience members, Rigoletto – The Mysterious World of Theatre is on the programme this year. At the Bregenz Festspielhaus, kids discover what exciting stories the theatre has to offer, and become part of the show themselves by singing along from their seats and bringing out props that they have made.

The artists of a travelling theatre troupe come onto the stage, carrying suitcases and bags. The kids in the audience see them change into their costumes and slip into the roles of Rigoletto the court jester, Gilda the daughter he is so protective of, and the powerful Duke. Watching the show, the kids can follow the plot well and experience for themselves what the characters are feeling. Thanks to this and also to Giuseppe Verdi's thrilling music the kids will remember the event for a long time to come.
