Carmen - The Star in the Circus of Seville

Opera for kids

Before Carmen once again captivates adult audiences on the Lake Stage, it’s circus time in the Festspielhaus: roll up, roll up for Carmen in the Circus of Seville! The young director Andrea Bernard transposes Carmen to the circus, a clear and effective world for children. The opera has lots of Spanish atmosphere and music. The main characters Carmen, Don José, Micaëla and Escamillo slip into circus roles, bringing to life this story of love and liberty.

The special thing about this performance is that the young audience members will become part of the show too, as they will sing along from the auditorium and deploy props they have made themselves.
