2020

After the season of 2020 was cancelled on May 15 the festival's management decided to "send out a strong artistic signal" with the Festtage. Bregenz Festival was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. However, there is hope for Bregenz Festival fans: The crowd-pleaser Rigoletto returns to the Seebühne in 2021.

3,422 visitors came to see the nine Festtage performances ranging from concerts with four different orchestras, a concert at the Kunsthaus Bregenz, two Musik & Poesie shows to a world premiere with the musical theatre Impresario Dotcom. The comic opera by composer L'ubica Čekovská was originally intended to be shown at the Theater am Kornmarkt but then celebrated its premiere in a "Bregenz 2020 version" at the Große Saal of the Festspielhaus.

Furthermore, Bregenz Festival invited everyone to take a look behind the scenes during a guided tour. Additionally, a podcast was broadcasted three times a day on the Seebühne. It was called "When I think about Rigoletto ..." and it shared the thoughts and feelings of artists and crew members.
