Die Verblecherbande

or the biggest bang bank robbery of all times

The Verblecherbande is a band that everybody likes because they play really cool and way-out music. But now they're in deep trouble: the money they need to keep getting new music has run out – a catastrophe! The Verblecherbande forges a plan: to carry out a robbery on the new town bank. Will the Verblecherbande crack the musical code of the safe in time? What music can do, and what it does to us – that's what this turbulent and zany musical comedy is all about. The members of the Verblecherbande are happy and courageous people. They dream of music that's always new, and obtain it at any price. When we set out to fulfil our most secret dreams there are always some surprises on the way...

Töneschmuggler on tour

Instrumental theatre

Inspired by the smugglers in Georges Bizet's opera Carmen, young people explore the phenomenon from today's point of view. Today we are moved by the fate of people who are smuggled by other people. As though goods and people had become interchangeable. Laws are broken, sometimes for humanitarian reasons. Does a similar thing go on in music? What can be smuggled in music? Sounds, melodies, noises? Melodies, rhythms, motifs can be smuggled into a piece of music and maybe out of one as well. But how can this be done without people noticing? It's not at all easy being a sound smuggler...

Assisted by young musicians, composer and stage director Thomas Desi, who comes from Vorarlberg, which is itself a smuggling region, makes these themes accessible in a variety of ways. The audience are witnesses, accessories to the event, and listeners.
